ContinUL Extend 2007:

Revised guaranteed death benefit UL.  Now offers lower rates for clients over age 70.  

 

AXA Equitable Life
 

New Return of Premium term (ROP Term) is now available with 20, 25, and 30-year level premium options.  This product also offers conversion credits to permanent plans and a children's coverage rider.

Genworth Companies

Term:
New non-nicotine term rates are now in effect.
 
Life Ready UL:
New current assumption UL plan to age 121.  It is designed to generate more cash value with more flexibility than guaranteed UL products.

New reduced non-nicotine term rates, and new Standard Plus non-nicotine underwriting class for term products.
 
Lincoln Benefit Life
 
Ultra Plus current assumption UL has been repriced and updated effective 9/24/07.
 
Ultra Index UL, a new indexed UL product launches on 9/24/07.
 
Prudential
 
A new repriced PruLife SUL Protector will be available on 9/24/07.  This product is more competitive than its predecessor especially for face amounts over $1 million. 
 
United of Omaha
 
Two new UL products available,  GUL Complete and GUL Express.  GUL Complete is a dial-a-guarantee UL to age 120 and GUL Express is a simplified underwriting product offered only at standard rates up to $250K of death benefit.

Buy-Sell Agreements:
How your clients can control the destiny of their business.

A buy-sell agreement controls what happens to a business if the owner should die, retire, or become disabled.  An agreement might provide that when an owner dies, the business entity itself will buy back the ownership interest (redemption plan), or that one or more surviving owners will buy the ownership interest from the deceased's estate (cross-purchase plan).

Section 1035 Exchanges with Outstanding Loans: 
Understanding the basis and recognition of gain rules applicable to transfers of policies encumbered by policy loans
Brokers frequently ask BUI questions about proposed 1035 exchange transactions.  Most often the questions relate to the income tax implications of these transactions when they involve policies with outstanding loans.  Such loans greatly increase the complications of these transactions and in many instances require the alteration of the transaction
